TÜV SÜD PSB advocates environmental sustainability at SGBC Green Building Conference 2010 for a better Singapore and a better tomorrow

SINGAPORE – TÜV SÜD PSB, one of the world’s leading service providers for comprehensive and integrated suite of product testing, inspection and certification services, is participating in this year’s SGBC Green Building Conference as a gold sponsor. Themed “Sustainability, Partnership and Innovation”, TÜV SÜD PSB will showcase its full portfolio of services at Build Eco Xpo (BEX) 2010 to help owners, developers and builders construct and maintain eco-friendly buildings.

TÜV SÜD PSB will also roll-out its new carbon-free certification service for hotels at the event. Not only will hoteliers now have an added platform to demonstrate their corporate social responsibilities, hotel staff will also have a role in identifying opportunities for process improvements, driving savings through carbon reduction initiatives in operations and secondary activities. The commitment is expected to resonate well with environmentally conscious patrons.

FOCUS@BEX Asia Monday, 13 September 2010

• 4:00pm – 4:30pm: Mrs Chay-Lee Swee Gee, Vice President, Strategic Business Department, Industry - Electrical, TÜV SÜD PSB, will be speaking on “Testing and Certifying Electrical Products for Energy Efficiency and Eco-Friendliness”. Her session will explore the different types of international energy and green labeling schemes for electrical products and how manufacturers can strengthen their products’ global competitiveness.

• 11:30am – 12:00pm: Mr. Bratin Roy, General Manager, TÜV SÜD South Asia, will be speaking on “Green Building – An Opportunity to Reduce Carbon Footprint” where he will cover recent green building developments and opportunities to reduce carbon footprint.

• 5:15pm – 5:40pm: Dr. Stefan Heuß, Head of TÜV SÜD Center of Competence, Energy Efficiency, TÜV SÜD Industry Services will be speaking on “Retrofitting Existing Buildings” where he will discuss how owners, builders, developers and builders can engage cost-effective evaluations and focus on the sustainability potential of their buildings.

• 5.40pm – 6:00pm: Dr. Sun Qiqing, Assistant Vice President, Mechanical Engineering Center, TÜV SÜD PSB, will be speaking on “An Integrated Approach: Balancing Cost-Effectiveness, Safety and Sustainability in Building and Construction”. He will focus on the testing of indoor environmental quality and use of resources in buildings.
